This is a blurb from
www.rotoworld.com...Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he is leaning toward going with Livan Hernandez as his Opening Day starter.
Funny, funny stuff.
"We’re kind of trying to go with [Hernandez], but we’ll see how everything goes," Gardenhire said. "He should be the guy. … I was kind of leaning that way, but wait and see what happens as we go along here." If Gardy starts Livan over Baker (as we know Liriano wont be our #1 starter right away), then we might as well toss in the towel for this year. Livan has done TERRIBLE this Spring. Giving up way too many runs. I know we signed him for veteran leadership, but frankly right now, the youngsters are showing him how to pitch instead of the other way around.
I'm sorry Gardy, but this would be a TERRIBLE move. Almost as terrible as saying last year that Punto is our 2B heading into Spring Training this year.
I have never been a fan of Gardy. He mismanages the pitching staff. Leaving starters in too long when they are struggling and stuff.
What's your guys/girls opinions on this?
