Michael Cuddyer has been placed on the 15-day disabled list after dislocating his finger last night:
Minneapolis -- The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they have placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right index finger. Cuddyer suffered the injury sliding into third base in the third inning of tonight's game with the Royals.
To replace Cuddyer on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Denard Span from Triple-A Rochester. Originally drafted by the Twins in the first round (20th overall) of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft, Span was 3-for-9 in two games this season with the Red Wings. He will wear uniform number 2 and is expected to join the team in time for tomorrow's game vs. Kansas City.
Share your thoughts on how this will affect the lineup and who will play rightfield?
With Kubel gatting most of the playing time this leaves Monroe as THE designated hitter. This guy is making me nervous. Does he have a comeback left in him or is he all washed up? I guess we will all soon know.
