The general public and the pundits all laughed at the Twins for giving away Santana for some "minor league players" and passing up proven starters. We as Twin fans know better as we sit quietly and laugh to ourselves. We know how the Twins organization works. If we get 4 "potential stars" we end up with 2 true stars. If we get 4 adequate starters we will always have 4 adequate starters.
As the season sits right now who would you rather have on your team, Gomez, Cabrera, Ellsbury or Crisp?
My money says that eventually one of the pitchers we got will end up better than anyone NY or Boston would have given us as well.
I totally Agree...right now I would rather have Ellsbury in CF if we were going to make a run at the division crown...but I love Carlos Gomez and he will be an amazing player.
Although, Humber isnt quite as good as Hughes he will be a probable 2 or 3 starter in the league. Guerra is a definate #1 starter if he can live up to his potential. Mulvey could be a bullpen man or else a spot starter or even a #5. Plus, we got 4 players who will play in the ML at some point whereas from NY we would have gotten only 2 (Hughes/Kennedy and Cabrera) or 3 from Boston (Ellsbury/Bucholtz/Lester, Lowrie, and RP (forgot his name)) I think this trade was the best! Great job on this post!
