2010 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Hits: 1
I am looking forward to 2010 in so many ways...

1. The New Ballpark Opens with its grass and outdoor atmosphere.
2. I graduate from Highschool that year!
3. Twins Lineup, Bullpen, Rotation and Bench players!

I will examine point 3 on the board.

Lets first start with the lineup:

1. Casilla - 2B
2. Gomez - CF
3. Mauer - C
4. Morneau - 1B
5. Young - LF
6. Cuddyer - RF
7. Kubel - DH
8. Hughes - 3B
9. Harris - SS

A pretty nice strong lineup, huh? Speed at the top and then the big bashers filling out the bottom 3-9!

Bullpen:

Nathan - Closer
Gomez - LH specialist
Crain - Setup
Guerrier - Setup
Neshek () - Setup
Humber - Long Man
Mulvey - Middle Relief

Rotation:

1. Liriano (maybe)
2. Blackburn
3. Perkins
4. Baker
5. Slowey

Bench:

Morales - backup C
Span - 4th outfielder
Plouffe/Tolbert - utility
Buscher - spare 3B, 1B, 2B

I am going to love 2010 if this should happen! Chicago really has the only other good prospects. Cleveland and Detroit must trade and sign in order to keep up. KC I am unsure about.

Go TWINS!

It could be a good year with a new stadium, but nothing is guarantee.

We have to see what happens.

There is lot of optimism.

The Twins MUST play their cards right by continuing to build for the future so that by the time the new ballpark opens, they're a championship contender. I know right now it'll be tough to do and think it can happen with the losses of both Johan Santana (trade) and Torii Hunter (free agency), but it's certainly obtainable.

Drafting well these next two years, tweaking their roster with the right mix of young developing players and veterans in their prime and more importantly, the right baseball people have to be in place for the Twins to be a highly successful ballclub.

Yes, I know... this is a common way for any of us to look at this situation and what needs to be done. But this is so important for this to be timed out right when the new ballpark opens so the momentum of progress for the franchise can be realized. A winning team in a new ballpark and a full house on a consistent basis is obviously the main goal in 2010.
