Site Tour E-mail

Simply getting a real domain would have been enough in my mind to make Twins Territory a better site. Adding a domain, the ability to have multiple pages, more writing features, multiple community features, a sleek look and even more is even better. And that is exactly what we’ve done here at Twins Territory and we’re still not totally finished with our plans.

Some of the newest features here include hundreds of roster pages, community features and more other pages to make your experience better.

Lets go around the site and talk about the key new features that we’ve added in hope to make your stay more worthwhile.

Roster Pages:

One thing that I really wanted to do was add roster pages on site. A 40-man roster, organization board and depth charts is nice, right? Well, we decided to go above and beyond and add over two hundred more roster pages.

The reason? Player pages.

In our database, we have (or will) a player page for every single player in the team’s organization from the GCL team to the Minnesota Twins, we’ve got it covered. You can access all player pages by going to the organization board.

Each player page includes standard information such as date of birth, age, height, weight and things like that. But we’ve also included stats from their first minor league game to their current level. In addition, we have contract information and awards as well.

The reason we did the player pages is pretty simple. Most of the time that you want to get player information, you need to go to two, three or more sites to get everything. You have to go to one site for stats, another for when they signed, another for some other information and so on. Our goal is to provide all the information at one stop. Consider this your one stop station for player information.

Other than player pages, we also have prospect pages which include our top ten prospects and will soon include more. We also have a page for former players where we’ll add links to players in our database that have moved on. And finally, we have a transactions page where we’ll go month by month with major league and minor league moves.

Schedule:

Since we have the ability to add as many pages as we want now, we decided to go ahead and add a schedule page. On this page, you’ll find the date of each game, the time, the opponent, the television channel and the final score. There will also be two links for each game, one for the game thread and one for the game recap.

Basically, this is a place to look back on past games and look ahead as well. It is also a good way for us to organize our game postings.

Other Writing Areas:

We have two more writing areas other than the main page, the Off-Topic section and the TwinsTube section. TwinsTube articles will appear on the front page, but Off-Topic will not other than maybe a link.

In the TwinsTube section, we’ll simply do our one video post a week thing. We may do more, but the page is simply a way to compile all videos and video write-ups.

On the off-topic page, I will post articles on anything I’m interested in at the moment. It’ll always be sports and will cover mostly football and basketball of all levels.

Other Pages:

Some other pages include the links page, contact page and games pages.

The links page will allows us to link to more sites than just Twins blogs. We’ll now link with all major league sites and blogs and even sites from other sports. If you want to exchange links, please contact us.

The contact section is an easy way to drop us a line without having to e-mail us. Send us your message and we’ll respond as quickly as possible.

The games page provides an area to kick back and relax with different Twins Territory themed games. All games include the Twins, so make sure to check them out.

User Features:

The final thing I want to talk about are the user features. We have three main features when you sign up, the forum, commenting and a Clubhouse profile. The one username that you sign up for will get you access to all three of these things.

I’ll go into more detail on the Clubhouse in the next day or so, but basically what it offers is a space to connect with other fans through your own FanBlog and profile. In your profile you’ll also have a user board, recent forum posts, personal and fan information, awards, groups, friends and a gallery. We’ll go into these features with more detail in the Clubhouse Tour.

The forum is just a basic forum. We have space set up to post about Twins news, rumors and games along with MLB news and rumors. You can also talk other sports, and about the Twins’ minor league teams.

In the coming days, I’ll have the Clubhouse tour to go over those features. In the meantime, sign up and look around:
