Keep Your Head Up. E-mail

It’s disappointing, there is no doubt about that. The Minnesota Twins should have been done playing Sunday, they should have locked it up before this. Unfortunately, what shoulda happened didn’t happen and the Twins are done until next spring.

The end result is disappointing to say the least. We’ve put seven months, and well over one-hundred days into supporting the team, and the 88 victories will now mean next to nothing.

Who would have thought the season would come down to game number one-hundred and sixty three? Nobody outside of Twins Territory had faith in the Twins six months ago, but they proved those “experts” and all of the other numerous doubters wrong. It was supposed to be the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians in front with the Twins well behind, we made damn sure that didn’t happen.

The injuries could have really hurt the season, but Denard Span, Alexi Casilla and countless others emerged from Rochester, New York and took a hold of everyday roles to lead the Twins to a remarkable and exciting season.

It’ll be a tough finish to sit on, it’ll be tough to see no Go-Go, Franchise and the other twenty-plus players that provided the excitement for nearly six months. What makes the ending even harder, despite the lack of a division title, is that it should have been the Twins on top, and with just a few different outcomes might have been.

It won’t be easy to forget the six blown games in the final two weeks of August. It also won’t be easy to forget how the team let Saturday’s game, what would have likely clinched them the division, slip away.

Luckily for us, this team will be back. Next season Denard, Go-Go, Lexi, DY, Cuddy, Blackburn, Slowey, Baker, Perk, Franchise, Nathan, Neshek, the M&M Boys and many others will be back with a vengeance.

Hopefully there are more upgrades ahead for this young team. Because with most of the team locked up for the immediate future, it won’t be long before we’re the team with the champagne after the victory.
