Livan Hernandez took a no-no into the sixth inning before allowing a hit, and yet again had a solid outing for the Twins. Livan lasted seven and one-third of an inning, allowing eight hits and three runs. Unfortunately, the Twins only scored two runs, and for the second time this season Livan took the loss.

Hernandez was pitching lights out through the first five innings, and it looked like he wouldn't be touched. In one inning, Livan used just seven pitches and quickly retired the side without a ball getting past the mound.

In the sixth, Hernandez lost the no-hit bid and the shutout allowing a few hits and a run. The Twins rallied back to take a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh, but a few Rockie hits and a run evened the game at two apiece.

Then in the eighth, Livan fell apart. He allowed three hits in the inning and left with the Twins down one run and the bases loaded. Luckily Brian Bass was able to quickly work out of the jam with just three pitches.

Overall it was a solid performance for Livan, and the loss could be put partly on Gardenhire. Livan seemed to really lose effectiveness in the eighth and you have to wonder if the Twins stuck with him one inning to long.

With the loss, Hernandez is now 6-2 on the season and the Twins are in danger of falling below the .500 mark at 21-21.
