Favorite Lineup? E-mail
Written by TwinsTerritory

Today's lineup may be my favorite one of the year, and if not, it's definitely towards the top of the list. There are many differences with injuries, and it looks to me like it provides the most production.

1. Carlos Gomez, CF
2. Alexi Casilla, 2B
3. Joe Mauer, C
4. Justin Morneau, 1B
5. Michael Cuddyer, RF
6. Jason Kubel, DH
7. Delmon Young, LF
8. Mike Lamb, 3B
9. Brendan Harris, SS

First off you have the normal Carlos Gomez leading off. Whenever he is in the lineup, there is excitement and normally some production. Casilla at second is good too. So far he has looked great, and his speed is a plus.

Mauer and Morneau are self explanatory, and then there is Cuddyer. He hasn't been very good, but he should break out, and he is going to be in the lineup no matter what.

Having Kubel after him is nice, because it provides a lefty to split up the lineup. With Monroe, it'd probably be just as good. Especially with his recent production.

I also like Delmon down further in the lineup. It take pressure off him to produce, and his numbers have been getting much better.

Lamb is questionable so far at third, but it's probably the best option right now other than possibly giving Matt Macri a shot.

Finally, I like Harris at short. One of the other reasons I like Casilla at second is because it means that Harris is likely at short (while Everett it hurt). Harris is not a big offensive guy, but it's better than Everett or any other backup.

With this, my question to you is this: What is your favorite lineup this year?

How about Gomez second?

I like your lineup, but how about flipping the top two spots. Casilla has better on-base skills and would set up Gomez to bunt, hit&run, or swing away as #2.

That is the lineup they used last night, and it worked well. They scored nine runs and every batter got a hit.

I think you could go either way with Casilla and Gomez. For some reason I just don't want them to mess with Go-Go. He is hitting really well right now.

my lineup would look like this:

1. Gomez, CF
2. Casilla, SS
3. Mauer, C
4. Morneau, 1B
5. Kubel, DH
6. Young, LF
7. Cuddyer, RF
8. Lamb, 3B
9. Harris, SS

The reason why Cuddy is batting so low is that he is struggling right now and needs to be lower so that he doesn't have to have loads of pounds on his shoulders.

Gomez and Casilla can swap spots...they are both fast and find a way to get on base. Actually, I would lead off Casilla and then Gomez right now, since Casilla is getting on base regularly and Gomez has power.
