Two More Cuts

The Twins made two more cuts this morning to trim the spring roster to 40 players. Carmen Cali is out of options, but cleared waivers and was then out-righted to AAA Rochester. The other move was assigning pitcher Kevin Mulvey to minor league camp. The Cali move is a little odd to me since there is one bullpen spot open, and I thought he was one of the pitchers in contention for the spot. Him clearing waivers is good because its always nice to have that extra lefty down on the farm. Kevin Mulvey showed some good signs in his few outings, and we knew this was coming. Mulvey will start either at AA for a while or possibly AAA since that’s where he finished the 2007 season.
