Twins Reach Fifty E-mail
Written by TwinsTerritory

The Twins capped off their final homestand before the All-Star break with a series sweep of the Cleveland Indians. They’ll now head on the road for a touch week against the Red Sox and Tigers before they get a few days off for the All-Star Game.

Cliff Lee, the starter for the American League in the All-Star Game, took the mound for the Indians, and through five innings was dominant. The Twins couldn’t get on base, let alone score any runs. Down by three in the sixth, the Twins finally got on the board, but still trailed 3-1 going to bat in the seventh.

Like they’ve done so many time over the past month, the Twins came up clutch. After Morneau was retired to lead off the inning, five straight hitters reached for the Twins in the big inning.

Monroe started it with a walk, and Delmon singled to put some pressure on Lee. The next batter, Brendan Harris singled and the Twins had the bases loaded with just one out. Nick Punto then stepped to the plate and single too, scoring a run and keeping the bases loaded in a 3-2 game. A flustered Lee walked Span and the Twins tied the game. The winning run came on a groundout by centerfielder Carlos Gomez, and the Twins took a 4-3 lead into the eighth.

Matt Guerrier did what Matt Guerrier does in the eighth, and All-Star closer Joe Nathan took the ball in the ninth. For the twenty-fifth time this season, Nathan collected a save.

The Twins on Saturday locked up their seventh straight series win, and now have made it to the 50-win mark on the season. They’ll play three against the Red Sox starting Monday on National Television.

Loved how you said, "on National Television." Should be a very good series!

In fact, Saturday's game against the Tigers is also on FOX.
The Twins fans

As I am a baseball lover, I try to watch games whenever I have time. But, for me, and without doubt for thousands of other fans all over the world, I love the Minnesota Twins and I do my best to attend their games though we notice that Twins tickets got a little pricy and hard to be found especially when we talk about some hot games. The Minnesota Twins tickets are a little pricy but this should not prevent us from fallowing our favourite team and support it, and this is what means to be a good fan.
