Game 7: Kansas City Royals E-mail
Written by TwinsTerritory

The Twins were unable to cap off their first sweep of the season despite a nice start by Boof Bonser. With little offensive production, the Twins fell to the Kansas City Royals 3-1. With the loss, the Twins are now 3-4 on the season and will head on the road for the first time this season tomorrow to play the Chicago White Sox.

Boof Bonser started off slow in his first outing of the season but eventually pitched six decent innings. Today, Bonser went seven innings and other than a two-run second, Bonser pitched very well. Through seven innings, Bonser allowed eight hits, three runs and struck out four hitters. He did receive the loss and is now 0-2 on the season with a 4.15 ERA.

The bullpen pitched the final two innings, and allowed just one hit. Jesse Crain pitched for the second time this season and allowed a hit in a solid inning of work. The ninth went to Dennys Reyes and he pitched a perfect inning while also picking up one strikeout.

Offensively, the Twins had several chances to score, but never capitalized. The team's lone run came from a Justin Morneau solo homerun, his second in as many days. Overall, Morneau continued to hit well going 2-4. Matt Tolbert was yet again the other key to the offense. Tolbert went 2-4 on the day too and collected his first extra-basehit. Carlos Gomez, Delmon Young and Brendan Harris collected the only other hits.
