I've been a Twins fan for nearly three decades, and I am scratching my head trying to think of any former Twins who reminds me of Gomez.

We've played against many of his type, but nothing like him on our side that I can recall.

I think the number of walks he draws will be interesting to watch. If he walks, it's a double.

His speed gives him, as a righthander, the ability to pull off drag bunts to first.

He's going to make the summer fun, that's for sure.

One question to the group: Was it me or did it look like he tweeked his back on that fly he caught in front of Delmon Young?

I know he and Delmon almost collided, but fortunately it never happened. I hope he did not. He looked fine on the field.

Great comments on Carlos. He has certainly got everyone buzzing here.

I was pretty confident that Livan would have a pretty good outing. To say I expected just two runs and seven innings though would be a lie.

The comparision that Bert made was Ricky Henderson. He said the way he takes a strike and runs is like Ricky. He also said when he's up at the plate he looks like a young Julio Franco.

Justin Morneau better be a Wild fan. I don't care if he's Canadian. Support the hometown team!

Another site thing: If you even notice that you've earned an award for posts and didn't get it, let me know. I do it manually, so it may pass over me from time to time. To see the awards, go to your profile and click the link under that tab.

Morneau is friends with everyone on the Wild.

He is at the games often at the Xcel Energy Center.

It boggles my mind how he is a Nucks fan yet he is a Wild fan.

I don't mind that he roots for a local team and such, but it's odd since both teams are rivals. It's good that Morneau is not doing this for PR reasons, but it's very odd. I just had to point that out.

I thought everyone on the lineup did a good job tonight for the most part. It was good to see everyone on base. This was productive night offensively. I know the team left guys loaded on base, which is always a theme for the Twins, but for the most part, they got it done when it mattered. They can only get better.

How awesome would a Everett grand slam have been? That was so close!

I'll do that right now Omega. I gave you the Twins Fan one today and must have forgotten that one. Thanks!

A thing I didn't respond to when someone said something about Dick announcing like the World Series. Did you see that WGN reaction to the Fukudome HR?

Regarding Morneau, I do remember him showing up at Wild games. I've been following the Wild as an out-of-town team of mine since day one. Hopefully he'll show up during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Good to see the new guys make good first impressions for the Twins. Carlos Gomez is obviously the key player the Twins got in return in the Johan Santana trade. The Mets simply had no room for him given Endy Chavez's role with the team and they had to give up somebody of significance for the Twins to accept the deal.

Livan Hernandez... solid performance. Definitely liked what I saw tonight. I know at times he's had his problems over the years shutting opponents down, but when he's on top of his game, he's quite tough to hit against. Hopefully we see a lot of what he did tonight during the course of the entire season.

And Everett isn't the best hitter, so that would have been a big boost for him. It looks like the whole team was pulling for it...

That was me who wrote about Dick. Dick really called a great game tonight. He seemed fired up. He was calling this like a main event tonight. He was really into it if you hear his voice.

I did not hear the reaction on WGN. I got the Brewers/Cubs feed from FSN Wisconsin.
